Biotel plastic mulch

What is Biotel Biodegradable Mulch? Biotel Biodegradable Plastic Mulch is a plastic film which is made from 100% plant starch materials. The plastic film will last up to 4 months, depending on the weather condition. The plastic is tilled into the soil in the fall adding a carbon based compost which help increase mirco-organism in the soil.
Muskmelons, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, eggplant, watermelon, okra have shown significant yield increase and earliness by increasing soil temperatures, reducing fertilizer leaching, reduced evaporation, reduced weed problems.
Studies have shown significant plant growth by a "chimney effect" which channels the carbon dioxide gas, which is the prime importance in photosynthesis. The high very of CO2 builds up under the plastic, because the plastic doesn't allow the gas to escape. The hole made in the holes to transplant the plants forces the CO2 up around the plants, creating the "chimney effect". This localized concentration of CO2 promotes active growth of the plants.

Early Spring Planting

Many thanks to Steve Smith, Jim Hayhurst, Eric Jack, and everyone who participated in the early spring planting.  Over 800 cole crop where planted. The terms "cold" and "cole" sound the same but have different meanings. "Cold" of course refers to temperature. "Cole" refers to any of various plants belonging to the Cruciferae or mustard family.  The mustard family includes cool season crops such as Brussels sprout, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, kale, kohlrabi, mustard, broccoli, turnips and watercress.

Growing for God's Glory!!!

"It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering.
What's important is that God makes the seed grow." 1Corinthians 3:7 (NLT)

Mission
ImpactSix is an outreach program intended to make a difference right here
in the Ohio Valley. Throughout the year, the entire C3 family will be out in the
community to make an impact for God. The only motivation is to let people,
some of whom may never come to church, know how much Jesus loves them.

Description
The community garden is an ImpactSix event which plants, grows and harvests
over 8,000 pounds of food a year that is given away to local charities.
The garden is located on C3’s 47 acre plot of land along Wheeling Creek.
During the summer months individuals and groups help in many ways to keep
the Garden clean, watered, and harvested. We would love for you to help this
ministry.
